NBC may not have picked up “Wonder Woman” but Adrianne Palicki is gearing up for action regardless, as the “Friday Night Lights” thesp has joined the cast of Paramount’s “G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes.”

Palicki will play Lady Jaye, the squad’s covert ops specialist who can handle a crossbow and has a knack for impersonation. In the Marvel comic book and Sunbow animated series, the character also has a romance with warrant officer Flint, who Variety recently revealed will be played by D.J. Cotrona (“Detroit 1-8-7″).

“Deadpool” scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wrote the 3D sequel, which Jon Chu is directing and Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing. Channing Tatum and Dwayne Johnson star alongside Ray Park, Byung Hun Lee and Jonathan Pryce, as well as franchise newcomers Elodie Yung and RZA.

Palicki recently appeared in Screen Gems’ “Legion” and next stars opposite Chris Hemsworth in “Red Dawn.” Thesp is repped by UTA, Anonymous Content and Myman Greenspan Fineman Fox Rosenberg Light LLP.
