You may have heard about the former Saturday Night Live writer, Joe Bodolai, found dead in a Hollywood hotel room of an apparent suicide. Bodolai posted what appears to be a suicide note to his blog on Friday.

The post is very sad, as you clearly feel the disappointment this man felt with life and himself.  He also lists his many accomplishments and his love for his kids. I found myself wanting to yell into the computer, to somehow stop him. It’s just awful.

One relatively minor thing in there I couldn’t help but notice is that Bodolai says he wishes he would’ve lived to see the Indians win a World Series and the Browns a Super Bowl. It made me wonder if he was from Ohio.

I found this, an apparently defunct Cleveland sports blog that lists Bodolai as one of two contributors. It says he is originally from Cleveland.

Other than that, there isn’t anything on the web — that I found — that says he’s from Ohio.

According to Julie Pech, a self-described chocolate therapist who lives in Denver, if dark chocolate had been invented today it would be a miracle food.

In her book, “The Chocolate Therapist,” she has over 60 alphabetized ailments with “prescription-style” chocolate recommendations followed by up-to-date research supporting how and why chocolate affects the body. She writes about how chocolate helps with heart health, the immune system, brain function, depression, PMS, weight loss, antioxidant assistance and anti-aging.

Chocolate “is one of the highest foods on the antioxidant charts,” she says, adding that it also contains over 400 flavor compounds and plant chemicals that all benefit the body in some way.

But, like good and bad cholesterol, there’s good and bad chocolate.

The nutritional value is in the cocoa, so the healthy stuff is dark chocolate with a minimum of 50 percent cocoa solids.
